About Hardyscape Designs
Hardyscape Designs is a landscape architecture practice delivering projects across childcare, education, aged care, public realm and community infrastructure sectors throughout Australia.
We create practical, engaging and compliant outdoor environments that balance design quality, functionality and long-term performance.
From early concept planning through to detailed construction documentation and project delivery support, Hardyscape Designs works closely with clients, consultants and contractors to deliver landscapes that are thoughtful, buildable and enduring.
Projects range from early learning environments and education facilities through to aged care communities, public open space, parks and community infrastructure projects.
Our Approach
Hardyscape Designs believes successful landscapes are created through a balance of design thinking, technical expertise and practical delivery experience.
Every project begins with understanding the people who will use the space, the operational requirements of the site and the broader project objectives.
This approach allows us to create landscapes that are engaging, functional, compliant and designed for long-term success.
Practice Leadership
Claire Hardy
Registered Landscape Architect
Claire is a Registered Landscape Architect with over 16 years’ experience working across residential, commercial, public space and childcare projects.
Her background spans private practice, council projects and education environments, giving her a strong understanding of how landscapes need to perform — not just conceptually, but in documentation, approvals and on site.
Claire is particularly experienced in childcare and education settings, where outdoor spaces must carefully balance play, safety, compliance and durability. Alongside this specialist work, she continues to deliver high-quality residential and commercial landscapes for clients who value clear advice and professional guidance.
Clients typically engage Hardyscape Designs when they want an experienced landscape architect to take the lead — someone who can make informed decisions, coordinate with the wider project team and resolve issues early.
How the studio works
The studio takes a considered, collaborative approach to each project.
Rather than offering fixed packages or generic solutions, the focus is on understanding the site, constraints and client priorities before design begins. This ensures the landscape is properly resolved and aligned with the broader project from the outset.
Clear communication, practical thinking and sound judgement underpin every stage of work.
A Clear Starting Point
All projects begin with an Initial Design Consultation.
This allows the right direction, scope and level of involvement to be established early, and ensures both client and consultant are well aligned before proceeding further.
